Islamabad: National Computer Emergency Response Team ( NCERT) has issued an advisory over cyber attack amid escalation between India and Pakistan.
In its advisory, NCERT has warned that hackers can take advantage of escalation in South East Asia and Central Asia.
Government institutions, sensitive infrastructure can be targeted in the cyber attacks, the advisory informed.
Defence, financial, media field can face the cyber attacks adding the attackers will try to steal the institutions secrets information.
The advisory further warned that services of strategic infrastructure can be hampered.
Spare fishing, malware, deep fax type ways feared to be used for the cyber attacks. The released advisory said that data theft and financial loss likely to be increased.
The risks of cyber crimes have increased in the financial institutions and banking systems. While political stability and people trust can be harmed.
The advisory suggested that the institutions immediately conduct security audit of the their systems.
To avoid the cyber attacks there is need of updating anti-virus and security systems. While the NCERT has directed the government institutions to strengthen the cyber security.
