ISLAMABAD: The Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan extended an invitation to provincial administrations for collaboration on the establishment of helicopter ambulance and emergency rescue services for motorways and national highways.
As per details, the minister wrote to the Azad Jammu and Kashmir prime minister, the Gilgit-Baltistan chief minister and the heads of all provincial governments to seek their support.
While addressing an important meeting, Minister Abdul Aleem Khan emphasised the need for comprehensive safety and security services across motorways and highways. “We aim to involve all provinces in this initiative to ensure rapid response and safety,” Khan declared.
He underlined the importance of a joint effort, stating, “The National Highway Authority (NHA) and Rescue 1122 will together play a crucial role in this national service.”
Khan described the safety of motorways and highways as a top priority. “In case of accidents, the injured must be transferred to the nearest hospital without delay,” he remarked.
He also revealed plans to extend the Rescue 1122 services, already operational on the M2 motorway, to other motorways and the Grand Trunk (GT) Road.
