KARACHI: The nurses of Sindh’s public sector hospitals are boycotting hospital and their protest sit-in outside Karachi Press Club is underway as negotiation between Sindh’s Joint Nurses Action Committee and Additional Secretary Health failed.
Nurses from across the province are staging sit-in at KPC for their demands. The nurses are demanding health and risk allowance, besides increasing monthly stipend to Rs20 thousands like other provinces of the country.
They are also demanding up-grading nurses post like other provinces. They protesting nurses vowed to continue their protest till acceptance of their demands.
Meanwhile, firefighters end their protest after assurances were given by Senior Director KMC Masood Alam to resolve their issues. Firefighters have besieged the building of KMC for acceptance of their demand.
Senior Director KMC Masood Alam held negotiations with the firefighters and assured them to meet their demands. On his assurance the firefighters ended their protest.
