Islamabad: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Wednesday approved a reduction in a basic tariff of the electricity by Rs 1.50 for the next fianancial year.
The NEPRA has approved a decrease in per unit basic price of Rs 35.50 to Rs 34 while the authority has sent its decision on the DISCOS multi air tariff applications to the federal governemnet which will take the final decision.
According to the NEPRA, in the outgoing financial year 2024-2025 the basic average tariff of electricity was set at 35. 50 paisa after increasing Rs 5.72 per unit while a new tariff will be applicable after approval from the federal cabinet.
