Islamabad: National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) today decreased electricity prices for K-electric customers by Rs 4. 87.
The NEPRA has reduced the electric prices for Karachiites in the fuel adjustment charges for the month of August this year.
As a whole the k-electric customers will get a relief of Rs 8. 30 billion, (Eight billion and 300 million)
The NEPRA today (Thursday) heard the K-electric petition for reducing electric prices by Rs 4.21 under the fuel adjustment charges for the month of August.
As per the K-electric spokesperson, owing to slashing of fuel prices world wide the relief will be provided to customers in the bills.
The power purchased from Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) underwent reduction of 33 percent as compare to June this year while Re-gasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) prices also decreased by 16 percent.
The monthly hearing of the NEPRA on petitions of Distribution companies for fuel adjustment charges (FAC) is totally as per the NEPRA laws, the K-electric spokesperson added.
