WEB DESK: In a significant development for Pakistan’s energy sector, Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MPCL) on Friday announced a new oil and gas discovery in Sindh.
Mari Energies Limited has made an oil and gas discovery at Mari Ghazij CFB-1 exploration well. The Mari Ghazij CFB-1 exploration well was drilled targeting oil-rich zones within the formation, the well will yield 3 (MMSCFD) of gas with 305 barrels of oil per day.
Mari Energies CEO Fahim Haidar described the discovery as a success for the company’s geoscientists, saying Mari Energies aims to support the government in their efforts.
According to officials, the well was drilled on September 12, 2025, the depth reached 1195 meters.
Mari Petroleum confirmed that this is the second oil-producing well in the Mari Ghazij area, where the company holds 100% operatorship under the Mari D&P Lease.
