NEW YORK: Twenty-nine passengers have been injured as commuter train derailed east of New York City after hitting a work train which caught fire after the impact.
According to foreign news agency the incident happened around 9 pm local time last night.
None of the wounded people are critically injured.
Around 600 people were riding the train the first three bogeys of which were derailed.
Train service remains suspended both ways.
