Islamabad: The reserved verdict of the Bushra Bibi nikah case during edat was not pronounced today as ex-husband of her Khawar Maneka expressed distrust on judge of the case Shahrukh Arjumand.
A district session court of Islamabad had set to pronounce the reserved verdict of the Bushra Bibi tie the knot with Imran Khan during the edat period.
Petitioner Khawar Maneka reached the court along with his counsel Rizwan Abbassi.
Khawar Maneka, during the course of the hearing said to the Judge “he doesn’t want verdict be given by you because he thinks that you are in under influence and avoid giving the decision.” Khawar Maneka also insisted to change his counsel
At the outset of the hearing, Khawar Maneka insisted the court allow him to talk in the court as his counsels were not able to clarify his emotions.
He apprised the court he has two counsels belonging to his areas. He said that baseless things were being spread against him on daily basis. The talk of his daughter divorce was being spread while a fake divorce letter was being spread on the social media.
Khawar Maneka said “he doesn’t believe on the court and insisted to avoid giving the decision.”
During the hearing, the PTI counsel Barrister Gohar said to the Judge Shahrukh Arjumand that no talk of Khawar Maneka under the law and you have completed the courts proceedings.
The Judge said that after the statement of Khawar Maneka any decision taken will be disputed. During the period judge went to his chamber while the PTI women in the court started chanting slogans against Khawar Maneka.
The Judge Shahrukh Arjumand penned a letter to the Islamabad High Court (IHC) for shifting of the case.
The letter reads that the petitioner of the case has expressed distrust on him while the petitioner’s such appeal has rejected earlier adding that the petitioner and his counsels have committed delay in the case without any reason.
After the objection raised by the petitioner it is requested to transfer the case to another judge while the IHC fix a time frame for disposing of the case.
Later, the PTI lawyers started toruturing Khawar Maneka while water bottles were thrown at Khawar Maneka.
When Khawar Maneka left the court the PTI lawyers rushed at Khawar Maneka while one of the lawyer gave blow to Khawar Maneka and he fell to ground while other lawyers running towards for beating him but lawyers with Khawar Maneka running him together went with him to save him.
