Web Desk (April 10, 2018): Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has said that no civil or military leader of the country is against peace and better relations with India and neither the better relations could be possible through use of weapons.

He said this while giving an interview to a Kashmiri Magazine Kashmir Narrator. The PTI chief said that the issue of Kashmir determines the relations between the two countries. He further said that Kashmir issue is key between the two countries, whose resolve is need of the hour.Imran Khan said that his party was already working on the proposal. He said that PTI’s Kashmir policy would be substantive and not restricted to declaratory platitudes.

Khan blamed former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for “undermining the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination, when he became the first Pakistani PM to visit India officially for Modi’s swearing-in ceremony and did not meet the Hurriyat Conference leadership in New Delhi. He also blamed former dictator Pervez Musharraf for causing a great damage to the Kashmir issue by declaring the UN resolutions on Kashmir out-dated.

“The UN resolutions continue to be of central relevance in that they reaffirm the legitimacy of the Kashmiris right to self-determination. The UN resolutions therefore continue to have a central legitimacy and are critical to resolving the conflict,” Khan.
