No Clash Between Govt, Judiciary: Ch Nisar

Islamabad (June 3, 2017): Federal Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Saturday rejected the impression that there was any clash or confrontation between the government and judiciary.

In a statement issued here, Nisar said that the regretting the remarks of a judge did not mean there was any clash or any confrontation going to start between the government and judiciary.

He added that likening difference of opinion as confrontation and using every issue for one’s political end was reflecting the mindset that wanted confrontation and clash in the country instead of stability and progress.

He came down hard on those criticizing the government over its latest tension with the government.

The minister said that it was unfortunate some elements were hell bent to fan misunderstandings between government and other state institution. “These elements attempt to achieve their political objectives by restoring to political point scoring and giving political statement on each and every issue,” he added.

The Interior minister said that the self-proclaimed guardians and protectors of judges and judiciary had perhaps forgotten the fact that how institutions were maligned during their own tenure and how high public-office holders disrespected high judicial personalities and how they negated courts’ verdicts openly.

Lashing out at the elements, Nisar said that these were the people who threw ink over judges to obstruct their decision, attributed higher judiciary’s decision to ‘Chamak’  and patronized PCO judges. Nisar said that these elements also include such people who accept only those decisions of the courts which were in their favour.

Referring to PTI without naming, Nisar said that these were the people whose party’s spokesman held Army and Judiciary responsible for rigging of 2013 election, but the party did not take any action against it rather the person continued to be working as the party’s spokesman even today.

He added that on the other hands, the government took prompt action against one of its leader who he used inappropriate language.

He said certain elements want to give the impression that confrontation and chaos exist between state institutions for their vested political interests.

He said these so called defenders of judiciary were themselves involved in ridiculing the institutions when they were in power.

Ch Nisar said that the government’s response to the remarks of an honorable judge should not be linked with confrontation.
