Quetta: Field Marshal Asim Munir on Sunday said that every conspiracy against Pakistanwill be foiled.
He made these remarks during a grand jirga held in Quetta, where tribal elders and families of martyrs were in attendance.
The Field Marshal accused India of fuelling terrorism in Balochistan through its “proxy networks”.
“India is behind the terrorist networks operating in Balochistan. It’s proxy war is no longer covert — it has now become open aggression,” said the field marsha.
He reaffirmed the resolve of the armed forces to defend the province and safeguard its peace.
“There will be no compromise on peace in Balochistan,” he asserted. “The future of Pakistan is linked to Balochistan. The Pakistan Army is fully prepared to respond to all threats and stand with the people of the province.”
The jirga, held in the provincial capital, aimed to build consensus between state institutions and tribal communities amid ongoing security challenges and the push for long-term stability in the province.
The Grand Jirga of tribal elders of Balochistan has unanimously pledged to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Government of Pakistan and Armed Forces, reaffirming their commitment to the security, stability, and development of the province.
The Jirga was held in Quetta and jointly addressed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff.
It was organized to interact with the tribal leadership and discuss the evolving security situation in Balochistan, with particular focus on the ongoing proxy war fueled by India.
