ISLAMABAD: Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz on Wednesday ruled out the possibility of friendship with India, saying that relations with India can be normalized but there could not be friendship.
Briefing the Senate Committee of the Whole House, Sartaj Aziz said that Pakistan had no plan to fence the whole Pakistan-Afghanistan borders, however steps were being taken to secure the border.
He said that all those who he met at Heart of Asia Conference disapproved India’s step to boycott SAARC conference.
He said that operation Zarb-e-Azb was a major initiative of the government and political parties. He said that it was wrong to say that only Army had role in operation Zarb-e-Azb and political parties and the government had no role.
He said that the infrastructure of non-state actors had almost been dismantled in North Waziristan. He said that Pakistan’s policy regarding non-state actors was clear.
Aziz said that the gains achieved during the last two and half years against war against terror were greater than that of last 10 years.
