No Reform Possible in Zardari, Faryal Presence: Imran

Karachi (October 25, 2017): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday said that without sending Asif Ali Zardari and Faryal Talpur, no reform was possible in Sindh.

Addressing a press conference here, the PTI chief said that except judiciary all institutions were under the influence of Nawaz Sharif.

He added that the PTI fought a long battle against corruption which consumed its energies to great extend. “ As we took the Panama case to its logical conclusion, now we will focus on Karachi and Sindh.”

He said that the situation in Interior Sindh was very precarious, roads were broken and infrastructures was in dilapidated condition.  He added that until Zardari and Faryal were not brought to book, no reform in Sindh will be successful.

He added that all departments and institutions were at the disposal of PPP and Zardari, adding that they constitutes fake and fabricated cases against opponents through police.In response to a question regarding lessons learned from the 2013 General Elections, Imran said, “This time around, we will award tickets after a lot of deliberation”.

When asked to comment on reports that former Muttahida Qaumi Movement member and TV star Aamir Liaquat will be joining PTI, Imran said that he was in touch with Aamir Liaquat Hussain and other “opinion makers’. Continuing his tirade against the Pakistan Peoples Party’s government in Sindh, Imran called Asif Ali Zardari the head of the province’s ‘corruption mafia’.

“Money which should be spent on the province is being siphoned abroad,” he said, adding that  Zardari prefers to invest in Dubai rather than in Pakistan.

He also called on the chairman of the National Accountability Bureau to investigate the $8 billion worth investment undertaken by Pakistanis in Dubai.The PTI chairman said further that Karachi’s local government (LG) system needs to be improved as at present the local representatives have no authority.

“This is why [Mayor] Waseem Akhtar says he wants Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s LG system,” claimed Imran.

To a question, Imran said for terrorism to be eradicated in Pakistan the rampant corruption needs to end first.

Talking about his present visit to the province, Imran said he has met with politicians, lawyers, members of the business community and party workers.
