ISLAMABAD: The federal government has canceled the NOC for the fundraising event of Shaukat Khanum Hospital Karachi.
The fund raising event of Cancer Hospital was to be held yesterday in a local hotel in Islamabad, however, the permission of the Shaukat Khanum Hospital Karachi event was canceled by the administration of Islamabad. No reason was given, local singer Asrar was scheduled to perform at the fundraising event. Shaukat Khanum Hospital management further said that fundraising for the cancer hospital is a non-political and charitable activity.
According to reports, the Additional District Magistrate wrote a letter to the local administration to withdraw the NOC, which did not mention the reason for withdrawing the permit for the program to be held on December 29. Under the conditions of institutions withdrawn, the private organization as per fundraising rules refused to provide audit and donor details on which the NOC has been withdrawn
