Nomination Papers for GE 2018 Can Be Obtained From Tomorrow

Islamabad (June 01, 2018): Nomination Papers for the upcoming general polls in the country can be obtained from tomorrow till June 6, this was stated by the ROs by issuing a public notice on Friday.

General elections will be held on July 25 in the country. According to the election commission, candidates can obtain nomination papers from Tomorrow and can submit till June 6, fees of the form is 100 rupees, which is available in both English and Urdu languages. According to the election commission, security fees for the nomination papers for the National Assembly is Rs. 3000 and Rs. 2000 is fixed for the provincial assemblies. Security deposit will be seized, if the candidate fails to secure less than one forth votes, whereas the candidates have to submit details of assets and loans, said election commission.

3. Publication of names of the nominated candidates 07.06.2018

4. Last date for Scrutiny of nomination papers by the Returning Officer 14.06.2018

5. Last date for filing of appeals against decisions of the Returning Officer rejecting/accepting the

nomination papers 19.06.2018

6. Last date for deciding of appeals by the Appellate Tribunal 26.06.2018

7. Publication of revised list of candidates 27.06.2018

8. Last date for withdrawal of candidature and Publication of revised list of candidates

28.06.2018

9. Allotment of Election Symbol to contesting candidate 29.06.2018

10. Polling day 25.07.2018

Earlier, after taking oath as caretaker prime minister Justice retired Nasir ul Mulk said that elections will be held on time and transparency is a top and foremost priority.

In an informal chat with media persons after his oath-taking ceremony, he said the elections will be held on time. He said I will work according to the mandate given to me.

Nasirul Mulk said today is my first day at the job and I am starting work right away.To a question, he said the size of federal cabinet would be small.

The caretaker Prime Minister also expressed good wishes for his predecessor Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.

Earlier, President Mamnoon Hussain administered the oath to the caretaker Prime Minister at a ceremony currently held at the President House.

Former PM, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Chairman Senate, Deputy chairman, Former NA Speaker, Ayaz Sadiq, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Services Chiefs, politicians and other officials were also present at the ceremony. Mulk is the seventh caretaker prime minister of Pakistan.Later, Caretaker Prime Minister, Justice Retired, Nasirul Mulk after taking the oath of his office, reached the PM House, where he was given guard of honour inspecting the guard of honour.

It is worth mentioning here that Nasir ul Mulk’s name was announced at a joint presser by PM Abbasi and Opposition Leader Khursheed Shah on May 28. Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq was also present along with some ministers.
