Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has said that the nations destroy who forget its history, civilization and culture, their heroes and traditions.
The CM Punjab said that we are surfacing Punjab historical heritage and culture in the front of the world.
Maryam Nawaz has decided to establish a tourism and heritage authority for promotion of tourism and protection of the historical heritage.
She also announced to make historic city Taxila into international tourist city.
On the instructions of the CM Punjab Magnificent Punjab Mega tourist project started in Punjab.
Under the project as many as 170 historical sites will be changed into international standard site making them as tourists destinations.
On the other hand mapping of the historical sites have been completed while under the project at least 101 Gurdwaras and Churches also included.
Headed by Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb project will be given a practical shape. While the Minister has approved all the suggested projects.
For formal approval a summary has been sent to Punjab cabinet while history, heritage and tourism will be under the authority.
For the first time Punjab Tourism and Heritage Authority Act 2024 implemented while Punjab first composite tourist policy also prepared.
The historical sites restoration will be conducted in three phases and it has been included in yearly development program.
Maryam Aurangzeb has instructed immediately preparing PC one of 16 tourists destinations.
