PESHAWAR: A suspected militant was killed while two others were injured during a gun battle with police in the Hangu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, officials confirmed.
The exchange of fire occurred in the limits of Mushti Police Station in Central Orakzai after security personnel confronted armed individuals in the area. The situation quickly escalated into an intense shootout.
During the clash, one suspect was killed on the spot, while two others sustained injuries. Authorities believe the wounded militants managed to escape with the help of accomplices, though their exact whereabouts remain unknown.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Daswar Ali said the body of the deceased was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for identification and legal procedures.
Following the incident, additional police forces were deployed, and the area was sealed off. A search operation is currently underway to locate and apprehend the remaining suspects.
Security has been tightened across the region as law enforcement agencies continue efforts to eliminate any potential threats and restore normalcy.
