Opposition Walks Outs of NA, Protest Against Attack on Shaikh

Islamabad (August 04, 2017): Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rashid on Friday demanded probe into the attack incident occurred on prime minister’s election day in national assembly.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan and Jamat-e-Islami walked out of NA in bid to register protest against attack.

While talking to media outside NA, Rashid equated new federal cabinet with ‘Friday market’. He once again forecasted that Punjab Chief Minister would not contest NA-120 by-poll.“Nawaz would be held responsible if I am killed,” claimed Rashid. Sheikh Rashid demanded lists of people who attended NA session without passes whereas accused ruling party of allowing paid assassins to enter parliament.

It should be recalled that Sheikh Rashid was allegedly attack on the day Abbasi was elected as PM and later Sheikh Rashid exited from the House under police cordon.

Meanwhile, police reached at the spot and took Sheikh Rashid in their protection and got him out safely, however slogans were being chanted in favour of Nawaz Sharif and against the Sheikh Rashid by N-League workers.PML-N Workers Seize Sheikh Rashid Outside Parliament

Yesterday the opposition leader in National Assembly Khursheed Shah met with Speaker Ayaz Sadiq to discuss various issues. Sheikh Rasheed’s harassment outside the parliament by political workers was came under discussion.

PPP leader Khursheed Shah apprised the speaker regarding the incident and demanded the complete inquiry of the incident.

He urged, “Every member assembly is important for us and his safety is the onus of the security staff of the parliament.”Shah, Sadiq Discuss Shaikh Rasheed Harassment IssueOn the occasion, speaker assured him that a thorough report will be summoned and after the investigation the responsible will be taken to task.

Khursheed letter to NA Speaker 

Later, opposition leader wrote letter to NA speaker regarding the entry of PML-N workers in the parliament without passes and waving former PM pictures.

Khursheed Shah, in his letter, asked the speaker to take action how the workers of a political party entered in the parliament and press gallery without passes as it is risky for parliamentarians security .

“The workers of a political party also waved the pictures of former member assembly in the house that damaged the discipline of the house and the session was not on routine,” he said in letter.
