Rawalpindi (July 20, 2017): Pakistan Army has killed 13 terrorists and cleared 90 square kilometers area so far in the recently-launched operation Khyber 4.
A statement issued here by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that Operation Khyber-4 was progressing as planned.
“Advancing from multiple directions troops including special services group have cleared 90 square km area and now squeezing the terrorists,” the statement added.
It maintained that Pak Army Engineers Counter IED teams had detected of IEDs laid by terrorists, recovered and neutralized these.
Many terrorist hideouts have been destroyed in targeted strikes by PAF, Army Aviation and Artillery. So far 13 terrorists have been killed and 6 injured, it added.
During exchange of fire a soldier Sepoy Abdul Jabbar has laid his life for the motherland.
It said that the Operation was going on as part of Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad.
The army had also informed Afghan forces ahead of the launch of Khyber-4 operation in Rajgal, which the Afghan army would be able to support on their side of the border if they wished.
Incidents of terrorism in Pakistan have shown a drop over the three-year period from 2014-2017, the ISPR had announced earlier.
Since the launch of Operation RuF, the army has launched 46 major operations in the country and over 9,000 intelligence-based operations (IBOs).
About 1,760 joint checkposts have been established in coordination with police and other law enforcement agencies.
