Outstanding tons by Marsh, Warner Australia set whopping 368 runs target to Pakistan

Bangalore: Outstanding tons by Mitchel Marsh and David Warner helped Australia to set a 368 runs whopping target to Pakistan here at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

David Warner played an outstanding innings of 163 runs which included 14 fours and nine sixes with a disastrous strike rate of 131.45.

On the other hand Mitchel Marsh like his partner showed a brilliant performane by making a ton while he scored 121 uruns with 10 fours and nine sixes with powerfull strike rate of 112.

The opening partners made huge pile up of score 259 runs between first wicket. After the opening partnership no other batters could score impressively.

From Pakistan side Shaheen Shah Afridi took five wickets while Harris Rauf begged three wickets and Usama Mir picked one.

Earlier, Pakistan opted to field after winning the toss.

It is the fourth game for both of the teams while Pakistan won the two matches and lost the match against India.

Australia lost two matches and won the third one.

Pakistan changed one player today as Osama Mir replaced Shadab Khan.

Pakistan skipper termed the pitch at the Chinnaswamy stadium “good”, sharing his team’s plan is to take early wickets and put Australia under pressure.

He added his side is now confident after a couple of good sessions and time to rest. Babar, however, spoke about the Green Shirts’ need to bat better, as they didn’t perform well against the arch-rivals India.

Meanwhile, Aussie skipper Pat Cummins said his side would have bowled first too had they won the toss, but were also fine with batting.

The Australian captain found the wicket “really good” and spoke about his team’s energy against Sri Lanka during their last win in the event. Cummins hopes his team will display the same performance against Pakistan as well.
