Owais Shah abduction: SC orders to remove SSP M Farooq

Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) on Monday (today) has ordered to suspend Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP)  Muhammad Farooq in chief justice Sindh High Court (SHC) son Awais Shah abduction case.

In Karachi unrest case the SC has ordered to form larger bench adding that Inspector General to be made more powerful and he must be given powers of promotion and transfers while the case has been adjourned till July 15.

A three member bench in supervision of Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJ) Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali heard the case other bench members were Justice Ameer Hani Muslim and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain.

During the hearing SSP Muhammad Farooq Ahmed could not satisfy the apex court over the abduction of Owais Shah, while, he neither  inform IG Sindh and DIG South regarding the matter nor he suspended any official over negligence. The bench said that the behavior  of the SSP looked like facilitator for abductors.

The SC ordered suspension of  M Farooq Ahmed immediately also summoning report from chief secretary Sindh that Chief Minister be asked why departmental action could not be taken against the SSP.

The bench also rejected report of IG Sindh and Director payroll, over Karachi unrest case during the hearing, while the court also ordered to submit details of A class cases and performance report of Director Payroll and their officers of the department.

The SC bench expressed anger over releasing the accused on payroll  after his or her bail rejection and asked the payroll department why should not you be sent to jail, the court asked.
