Director General (DG) Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) Lt Gen Asim Salim Bajwa has said that evidences have found that Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Al-Qaeeda was involved in kidnapping of Chief Justice (CJ), Sindh High Court (SHC) Sajjad Ali Shah’s son Owais Shah adding that abductor wanted to take Owais Shah to Afghanistan while the operation to recover the abductee was commanded by Inter Service Intelligence (ISI).
In its media briefing after recovery of Owais Shah the DG ISPR Lt Gen Asim said that on a tip off operation was carried out in Tank near Mufti Mahmood Chowlk around 2 to 2:30 am midnight.
He said that “A blue car was directed to stop near check post but terrorists tried to run away. While army sniper targeted driver of the vehicle while two other terrorists also fleeing from the spot were shot dead.
The military spokesman said that three AK-47, 6 hand grenade, Drum magazine and bullets recovered from the possession of the terrorists. Wearing vigil At the time of recovery Owais Shah’s hands and legs were tied with rope and his mouth was tapped.
Owais Shah informed his identity to security personnel. The spokesman further informed that the operation was command by the ISI and it was joint effort of law enforcement and intelligence agencies.
Asim Bajwa said that abductors had presented their demands and it will be informed after thorough investigation.
On a query, the spokesman said that the army did not receive any request regarding providing security to judges adding that inter provincial border security is handed to provinces.
When the army spokesman asked how Owais Shah reached Tank he replied that provincial governments should be asked regarding the question.
