OZ Developers secures 8th PSL franchise for Rs.1.85 billion

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has grown to include two new teams representing Hyderabad and Sialkot, marking a significant expansion of the league.

The auction process for these new franchises took place at the Jinnah Convention Center in Islamabad, with nine parties competing after Ali Tareen’s withdrawal from the auction. Previously, FK S Group had purchased the seventh team for PKR 1.75 billion, selecting Hyderabad as their city.

Fawad Sarwar, the owner of the Hyderabad franchise, shared his excitement, saying, “Growing up in Hyderabad, it was always a dream to own a team from my hometown.”

The race for the eighth team was highly competitive, but Ozi Developers ultimately secured the franchise for PKR 1.85 billion, choosing Sialkot as the team’s city name. With these additions, the PSL now features a total of eight teams.
