Islamabad:Chairman Publics Accounts Committee and Member National Assembly (MNA) Noor Alam Khan has announced opposing the federal government’s Finance Bill to impose new taxes.
The dissident Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Noor Alam said that he would sacrifice his seat rather than vote in favour of the Finance Bill.
“I oppose the imposition of tax on marriage halls. The government should provide relief to the poor people instead of making tall claims.”
The PAC Chairman also strongly criticised increasing of power tariff. While he was in favor to hike tariff for bigger industrial units.
While slamming the government, the NA lawmaker asked the authorities to control the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and declared them thieves.
He proudly said” hinting towards own self proudly said that people and I regularly pay taxes.
Noor Alam Kham said that the government had said at the time of floods in South Punjab, Baluchistan and Sindh that agricultural loans will write off but the government didn’t do it.
He said that Pakistan is country where there are only taxes and taxes and no any relief for poor masses.
He said people of the country are remembered only when at a time of elections whereas they are totally ignored on imposing burden of taxes on them.
