Pakistan and host England will clash in the third Test of four-match series on Wednesday giving the former a chance to be the number one in Test ranking.
If Pakistan wins the Test series by whatsoever margin and Sri Lanka wins the series against Sri Lanka Pakistan will top the Test ranking for the first time ever.
Sri Lanka leads Australia 1-0 in the three Test match series. Australia tops the Test ranking with 18 points fllowed by India with 112 points while Pakistan ranks third with 111 points.
Meanwhile, Pakistan is practicing hard for the third Test at Edgbaston. A couple of changes are expected in both the opening and fast bowling departments. PCB has invited Malala Yusufzai to watch the third Test.
