ISLAMABAD: Minister for National Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain has said that Cooperation in the agricultural sector will further strengthen Pakistan-Korea relations.
While talking to the delegation, the federal minister said Korea’s KOPIA project will promote quality potato seed production and agricultural development in Pakistan.
He further said that under the KOPIA project, 450,000 nucleus seeds will be produce which will provide 160,000 tons of quality seeds annually.
Rana Tanveer Hussain revealed that Potato cultivation in Pakistan increased from 75,000 acres to 837,669 acres and this led the country to become the world’s ninth largest producer by producing 8.4 million tons of potatoes annually.
The minister expressed desire to learn from Korea’s experience in agricultural technology to improve its agricultural production.
