Pak, Turkiye agree to accelerate efforts for ceasefire in Gaza

New York: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan have met on sidelines of the UN General Assembly session in New York.

During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and cooperation in different fields.

Both the leaders agreed to increase cooperation in various fields particularly in economic and defence sectors.

They agreed to accelerate efforts for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza enclave for peace in the region and humanitarian supplies to Palestinians.

Shehbaz Sharif appreciated speech of President Erdogan at UN General Assembly in which he effectively highlighted plight of Palestinians and Israeli aggression.

Later, talking to media, the Prime Minister said friendly countries including Turkiye, Saudi Arabia, UAE and China have always helped Pakistan in difficult times.

He said Pakistan has fulfilled all terms of IMF.

The Prime Minister said economic indicators are now positive and government’s policies are yielding good results.
