Pak youth gets training of civil defence across Punjab

ISLAMABAD: In a massive civil defence initiative, Punjab Emergency Service In an ambitious effort to improve public preparedness during emergencies, Punjab Emergency Service Rescue 1122 has launched a province-wide civil defence training campaign.

According to the Secretary of Emergency Services, Dr. Rizwan Naseer, over 50,000 people have already been trained in the past 48 hours alone.

The training program is being conducted to equip the public with essential life-saving skills and emergency response techniques. “The aim is to empower individuals to effectively handle unforeseen and critical situations,” said Dr. Naseer. Rescue 1122 has trained over 50,000 individuals

Participants include students, professionals, and members of the general public, who are being trained in basic first aid, emergency evacuation, and life-saving techniques. The sessions include practical training on how to stop bleeding, perform CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), and provide immediate care for broken bones and spinal injuries.

Dr. Rizwan Naseer emphasised the importance of these drills, noting that they are designed to simulate real-life scenarios. “We want people to feel confident and secure during emergencies. These drills give a sense of preparedness that is crucial when disaster strikes,” he added.

This proactive campaign is part of Rescue 1122’s broader vision to build a safer and more resilient society, where every citizen is capable of becoming a first responder in times of crisis.
