Pakistan agrees to resume talks with Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD: Sources reveal that the Pakistani delegation, initially planning to return, has now opted to give peace another opportunity by resuming dialogue efforts.

The discussions will focus on Pakistan’s primary demand for Afghanistan to implement clear, verifiable, and effective measures against terrorism.

According to reports, Pakistan has reiterated the importance of ensuring that Afghan territory is not used to facilitate terrorist activities against Pakistan.

For context, the first round of negotiations between Pakistan and Afghanistan took place in Doha, Qatar’s capital, resulting in a ceasefire agreement between the two nations.

Subsequent second and third rounds were held in Istanbul, where the Pakistani delegation currently remains. At the invitation of the hosts, talks between the two countries are now set to continue.
