ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Turkey have signed agreements and memoranda of understanding on cooperation.

Memorandum of understanding (MOU) signing ceremony was held in Islamabad in the presence of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The trade ministers and senior officials of both countries also participated in the ceremony.

Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif signed an agreement with the Turkish President, following which Pakistani ministers and the Turkish Information Minister exchanged documents of the agreements and MoUs.

The agreements include strengthening strategic relations in treaties, exchanges of military and civilian personnel on socio-cultural grounds, training and cooperation agreements in the fields of Air Force Electronic Warfare and Military Health.

In addition, agreements were signed regarding cooperation in the fields of hydrocarbons, mining, energy, digitization of trade certificate verification, agricultural seeds, the water sector, and industrial property.

Furthermore, agreements were also made between Export Credit Bank of Turkey and Export-Import Bank of Pakistan, cooperation under the Halal Accreditation Authority, and other important agreements including technical assistance in the health and pharmaceutical sectors.
