WEB DESK: The 16-member Pakistan squad for the three-match T20 series against Bangladesh has been announced.
Pakistan has announced its 16-player squad for the upcoming three-match T20 series against Bangladesh, set to be played at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. Slaman Ali Agha has been named captain, with Shadab Khan serving as vice captain.
Notably, star fast bowlers Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Rizwan will miss the series, along with former captain Babar Azam.
Mohammad Ali, Umer bin Yusuf, Sufyan Muqeem, and Osman Khan have also been dropped, and former captain Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan are not part of the squad.
The squad sees the return of several key players, including Hasan Ali, Fakhar Zaman, Saim Ayub, Hussain Talat, Sohail Frhan, and Fahim Ashraf. Naseem Shah and Muhammad Waseem Jr. also secured their spots, bolstering Pakistan’s bowling attack.
The team lineup features Abraar Ahmed, Haris Rauf, Hasan Nawaz, Mohammad Irfan Khan, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Haris (wicketkeeper), and others. The schedule for the matches will be announced soon.
The series follows successful talks between the cricket boards of Pakistan and Bangladesh in Dubai, with an agreement for Bangladesh to tour Pakistan and play the series.
