WANA: The Pakistan Army has offered a spiritual gift to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by constructing and restoring several mosques across the province.
In South Waziristan’s Wana region, the newly built Spin Mosque, completed in July 2021 with the support of Frontier Corps Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (South), stands as a symbol of devotion and unity. The mosque boasts a spacious courtyard and an elegant prayer hall capable of accommodating more than five thousand worshippers at a time.
The mosque’s Imam shared that children from nearby and far-flung areas come to the mosque to receive both religious and contemporary education. Local residents expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps for gifting them such a splendid place of worship.
Across the former FATA region, the Pakistan Army has launched numerous mosque construction and rehabilitation projects. In Bajaur district, the Frontier Corps KP (North) restored the historic Suleman Khel and Ahrab Mosques, both previously affected by terrorism.
Responding to appeals from students, a grand Jamia Masjid Farooq-e-Azam was also built and renovated at the University of Malakand, while similar projects have been completed in Mir Ali, Sararogha, Ladha, and Makeen areas of North and South Waziristan.
Officials emphasized that these efforts have not only enhanced the region’s spiritual infrastructure but have also strengthened bonds of unity, peace, and trust between the people and the Pakistan Army.
