Islamabad: The Independence day started all across the country with gun salute in the country’s capital Islamabad as well as provincial capitals Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta.
The salute was also presented in Muzaffarabad, capital of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The day dawned with 31-gun salute at the Federal Capital and 21-gun salute at the provincial headquarters as well as Muzaffarabad.

The smartly turned out Pakistan army contingents expressed their love and attachment with the country by presenting the gun salute.
Special prayers were offered in mosques for peace, solidarity and prosperity of the country.
