BAHAWALPUR: Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir stated that the Pakistan Army will continue to fully support the country’s economic development process.
Army Chief and senior government officials visited the SIFC Green Corporate Initiative. The Army Chief, along with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, other federal and provincial ministers, and officials related to the agricultural sector, were also present on the occasion.
Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz formally inaugurated the “Smart Agri Farm”, “Green Agri Malls”, and “Agri Research Facility Center”.
During the visit, participants were also shown a demonstration of modern agricultural machinery used for the development of the agricultural sector.
Under this project, farmers will have opportunities to obtain machinery at affordable rates instead of purchasing expensive machinery. 25 “Green Agri Malls” have been established across Punjab for modern irrigation systems, and the completion of 250 “Green Agri Malls” across the country is expected by the end of the year.
Under the project, a modern agricultural farm spanning five thousand acres has also been launched. Green Agri Mall & Service Company will provide farmers with quality seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides at discounted prices at their doorstep. Agricultural machinery, including drones, will be available to farmers at discounted rental rates.
