Pakistan assumed responsibility as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council

Web desk: Pakistan begins its 2-year term as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.

The ceremony of taking over the responsibilities of the non-permanent members of the Security Council was held in the United Nations.

Pakistan’s delegate Asim Iftikhar attended the flag-laying ceremony of non-permanent members and then Pakistan’s flag was hoisted in the Security Council.

After which, Pakistan’s 2-year term as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council began.

Flags of other non-permanent members Denmark, Greece, Panama and Somalia were also hoisted.

Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Munir Akram says, as a non-permanent member of the Security Council, he will play an active and constructive role in dealing with the challenges facing the world.

It should be noted that Pakistan has been elected non-permanent member for the eighth time.
