Pakistan-Bangladesh defense cooperation strengthened

RAWALPINDI: The Bangladesh Air Force Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan visited Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, as reported by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The meeting focused on fostering mutual interests, regional security issues, and exploring avenues to enhance bilateral military collaboration. Both leaders emphasized the importance of deepening professional ties through joint training programs and defense cooperation. 

Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their efforts toward regional stability. The Army Chief, Field Marshal Munir, reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to maintaining strong defense relations with Bangladesh. The discussions reflected the deep-rooted friendship and enduring partnership between the two nations.

Earlier during his official visit to Saudi Arabia, Pakistan’s Chief of Defense Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, met with Saudi Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. 

The two officials engaged in comprehensive talks covering regional security, military cooperation, strategic partnerships, and geopolitical challenges. The discussions underscored the long-standing, brotherly relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

In recognition of his distinguished service, the King Abdulaziz Medal of Excellent Class  the highest national honor awarded by the Kingdom — was conferred upon Field Marshal Munir through a Royal Decree issued by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. 

The award acknowledged his leadership and efforts in strengthening defense collaboration, regional peace initiatives, and counter-terrorism efforts. The Saudi leadership expressed appreciation for his professionalism and strategic insight, highlighting his role in deepening the historic ties between the two countries.

Field Marshal Munir expressed his gratitude to the Saudi leadership for the honor, describing it as a testament to the enduring brotherhood between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting the Kingdom’s security, stability, and prosperity.
