JOHANNESBURG: Pakistan pulled off a 4-wicket victory against South Africa in the first T20 International at Johannesburg stadium. They now lead the T20 series 1-0. Opener Muhammad Rizwan top scored for Pakistan with 74 runs off 50 deliveries.
The Proteas were in a commanding position throughout the first inning with the help of fifties by opener Aiden Markram and captain Heinrich Klaasen, helping their team score 188 runs for the loss of six wickets. Mohammad Nawaz and Hasan Ali picked up two wickets a piece for Pakistan.
South African captain Heinrich Klaasen won the toss against Pakistan and chose to bat in the first Twenty-20 International of the four-match series.
The visitors won the ODI series 2-1 and are aiming to win the four-match T20I series as well, given that they have fielded a full strength team. South Africa, on the other hand, has had to make many replacements as some of its players have flown to India for the IPL while others have gotten injured.
