Pakistan beat West Indies by16 runs in second T20, seize series

DUBAI: Pakistan beat West Indies by 16 runs in the second T20 and took 2-0 lead in the three-match series at Dubai International Cricket Stadium today.

Pakistan set target of 161 for West Indies on four wickets but West Indies could not achieve the given target and fall on 144 runs. Pakistan lost Sharjeel Khan early when four was on the board but Babar Azam and Khalid Latif added valuable 54  in the second wicket partnership before Babar caught by Brathwait, later Khalid run out at 40.

However captain Sarfraz and senior Shoiab Malik assails West Indies bowlers and took to Pakistan a good total of 161 in the loss of  three wickets. Sarfraz Ahmed scored 46 runs on 32 balls with five 4s and remained not out. While Shoaib Malik scored 37 runs in the match. Badree, Bravo and Brathwaite got one wicket each while Narine left wicket-less.

West Indian openers Charles went to pavilion on 10 and Lewis only on three runs.Fletcher scored 29 runs and Bravo made 18. Narine went to pavilion on 30 runs.

Pakistani bowlers Sohail Tanvir and Hasan Ali took two wickets each. While Imad Wasim, Muhammad Nawaz and Wahab Riaz grabbed one wicket each. Sarfraz Ahmed was honoured with Man of the Match award.

Earlier,  West Indies have decided bowling first after winning toss against Pakistan in second T-20 match of three-match series being played at Dubai cricket stadium as both teams did not make any change.
