KARACHI: The Chinese Consul General, Yang Yudong, strongly condemned the attack on the Jaffer Express in Baluchistan and the killing of passengers taken hostage.
In response to a question about how the recent terrorist attack in Baluchistan could increase security cooperation between Pakistan and China, the Chinese Consul General said, “We are closely monitoring the incident of the attack on the Jaffar Express. We strongly condemn this horrific attack, and China expresses its condolences to the families of those who lost their loved ones in this incident. We also extend heartfelt sympathy to those whose relatives were injured in this brutal attack.”
The Chinese Consul General stated that China’s stance on terrorism is clear: “We oppose all forms of terrorism, and we fully support Pakistan’s efforts to fight terrorism.”
He added, “We also hope that with the cooperation of the Pakistani people and the international community, Pakistan can eliminate terrorist networks, bring terrorists to justice, and restore the rule of law more effectively so that people can live in a more peaceful and stable environment. This will also increase opportunities for cooperation both within Pakistan and with the international community.”
When asked about which CPEC projects China aims to accelerate this year, Consul General Yang Yudong said that 2025 is another important year for the development of CPEC.
He further explained, “Based on the successes achieved in the past few decades, our efforts will focus on progressing the CPEC projects in the most favorable environment. We expect to see significant progress in key projects, such as the Karakoram Highway realignment project and others.”
The Chinese Consul General expressed hope that the people of both countries will fully benefit from the opportunities arising from CPEC, that business cooperation between the two nations will grow, and that ties between people will strengthen.
He expressed confidence that more and more people from both countries will not only participate in the construction of CPEC but will also benefit from it. “It is through the efforts of both nations that we can turn our expectations into reality.”
