Pakistan-China Joint Military Exercise ‘Warrior-IX’ Kicks Off

RAWALPINDI: The 9th edition of the joint military exercise, Warrior-IX, involving the Pakistan Army and China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA), has officially commenced.

This annual bilateral counterterrorism exercise is part of a series that underscores the close bond between the two nations, often referred to as iron-clad brothers.

As per the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the exercise, which started on Monday, focuses on counterterrorism operations. Its objectives include enhancing interoperability, honing professional skills, and sharing best practices in contemporary warfare.

Pakistan and China share a longstanding and deeply-rooted defence cooperation built on mutual trust and a strong strategic partnership.

Warrior-IX serves as a testament to the robust military collaboration between the two countries, emphasizing their common dedication to maintaining regional peace, security, and stability.

High-ranking officials, including Corps Commander Mangla, Major General Bian Xiaoming, Deputy Chief of Staff of PLA’s Western Theatre Command, and other senior military representatives from both nations attended the opening ceremony held at the National Counter-Terrorism Center in Pabbi.
