Pakistan clinches two golds and a silver medal at asian science camp 2025

ISLAMABAD: In a momentous achievement for the nation, Pakistani students earned two Gold Medals and one Silver Medal at the Asian Science Camp (ASC) 2025, hosted this year in Thailand—marking the country’s most successful performance in any international science competition to date.

The eight-member student delegation was carefully chosen by the Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) through a competitive national selection process that included a comprehensive written test followed by interviews. The selected students participated in the six-day scientific camp, where bright young minds from across Asia engaged in discussions and lectures with Nobel Laureates and globally recognized scientists.

Among the standout participants was Ali Afzaal Muhammad from Khyber Medical College, Peshawar, who won a Gold Medal in the Innovation and Technology category. His pioneering project, titled “Sleep 10 Hours in 2”, featured a futuristic sleep pod designed to compress optimal rest into a fraction of the time using cutting-edge techniques.

The concept attracted widespread interest from both the judging panel and international attendees for its ambitious implications in modern lifestyle and healthcare.

Another Gold Medal was secured by Malik Shahabuddin Syed of Bolan Medical College, Quetta, in the Sustainability category
