Pakistan condemns Israel’s continuing attacks in Gaza

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has strongly denounced Israel’s ongoing assaults on Gaza, which have led to the tragic loss of countless civilian lives.

During an address at the United Nations Security Council Open Debate, Acting Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN, Ambassador Usman Jadoon, emphasized that such actions contradict both the letter and spirit of the agreement signed in Sharm El-Sheikh.

He stressed that peace efforts must not be undermined, as enduring stability cannot be achieved through continued occupation and oppression.

Ambassador Jadoon further criticized the Israeli Knesset for its preliminary approval of two draft laws that seek to impose Israeli sovereignty over the occupied West Bank and an illegal settlement. He labeled these moves as a blatant violation of Palestinian historical rights, international law, and relevant UN resolutions.

The ambassador called for the complete implementation of a ceasefire, ensuring a permanent end to hostilities, Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, unhindered humanitarian access, and the initiation of a comprehensive reconstruction plan.
