Pakistan conditioned its participation in World Cup with India’s attendance in Asia Cup

Lahore: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has firmed on its stand regarding holding of Asia Cup in the country.

Pakistan has categorically stated its stand that Pakistan participation in the ICC men Cricket World Cup 2023 in India will depend on India’s participation in Asia Cricket Cup (ACC) 2025.

There is no declaration issued after conclusion of International Cricket Council Chairman and Chief Executive. Mr Greg Barclay, and Mr Geoff Allardice respectively.

Earlier, ICC Mr Greg Barclay, and Chief Executive Mr Geoff Allardice spent very hectic days during their two day visit to Pakistan.

They visited historical sites of Lahore besides also visited Safe City project for the security of guest teams and reviewed the security arrangements.

The PCB Chairman Najam Sethi apprised that Pakistan faced difficulties and suffered more than a decade owing to security fears and deprived of home cricket.

But now situation has changed, Australia, England, New Zea Land and South Africa have visited Pakistan and they have expressed satisfaction on security measures, Najam Sethi said.

He said that in this situation India’s not admiting hybrid model on political grounds is not appropriate. If India’s government not allows its team to visit Pakistan then Pakistani government can also stops its team participation in World Cup in India.

The ICC has given hosting of 2025 champions trophy to Pakistan, he said. While he demanded the ICC hi-ups to give India’s gurantee to participate in the Champions trophy in 2025
