Team squads for Asia Cup, Afghanistan trip to be announced this evening

Lahore: Pakistan cricket team squad tour to Afghanistan and Asia cup will be announced today this evening at 4:30 pm by the chief Selector Inzamam Ul Haque.

A three-one-day series will be held from August 22 to 26 in Sri lanka.

On the other hand Asia Cup is going to commence from August 30.

Earlier it was reported that announcement of team squad for Asia Cup and tour to Afghanistan has been delayed owing to consultation for the squads.

Sources said that consultation between Baber Azam and selection committee has prolonged. It is likely that selection committee will announce 17 to 18 members squad, sources said.

Sources said that Baber Azam will retained as the team captain. The squad included Imam Ul Haque, Fakhar-e-Zaman, Muhammad Rizwan, Salman Ali Agha.

Besides that Iftakhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Muhammad Nawaz, Shaheen Afridi will also be part of the squad.
It likely that Naseem Shah, Osama Mir, Tayyib Tahir, Waseem Junior will also be included in the squad.

There is tough competition between Sarfaraz Ahmed and Muhammad Harris on one hand, while Shan Masood and Abdullah Shafiue on the other.

Muhammad Harris likely to be included in the squad as Number of votes are higher for him.
Sources said that Inzamam Ul Haque wanted to included Abdullah Shafique on place of Shan Masood.

Skipper Baber Azam wanted that the team squad should be comprising 18 players. On the other hand, Inzamam Ul Haque is in favour of 17-member squad.

The team director Mickey Arthur has a wish to include Fahim Ashraf and Zaman Khan.
