LAHORE: A prestigious change of guard ceremony was held here on Saturday at the mausoleum of Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal on the occasion of ‘Pakistan Day’.
A smartly turned out contingent of the Pakistan Air force assumed ceremonial guard duties with traditional spirit and enthusiasm.
The nation is celebrating Pakistan Day today across the country with traditional zeal and fervour.
The day marks the adoption of historic Lahore Resolution this day in 1940 that provided a framework for the realization of the goal of a separate homeland for Muslims of South Asia.
The Day dawned with a 31-one-gun salute in the Federal Capital and twenty-one-gun salute in provincial capitals.
