Pakistan defeated New Zealand, who scored 401 runs

In the rain-affected match, the Pakistan team scored 200 runs chasing the target scored 401 by New Zealand, for the loss of one wicket in the 26th over and the team won by 21 runs due to the DL method

The match between Pakistan and New Zealand was decided by rain. Pakistan won under the Duckworth-Louis method. Batting first, New Zealand scored 401 runs in the allotted 50 overs and gave Pakistan a target of 402 runs to win. However, rain entered during Pakistan’s batting. Due to which the game was stopped twice. And then Pakistan won by 21 runs under the Duckworth Lewis method. Pakistan’s hopes of reaching the semi-finals are still intact Pakistan won the toss and decided to bowl first against New Zealand, after which the New Zealand batsmen batted with a high run rate from the beginning to the last over and scored 401 runs for 6 wickets in the allotted 50 overs.Dion Conway and Richan Ravindra opened the innings for New Zealand while Shaheen Afridi bowled the first over of the innings.The New Zealand openers built a partnership to take the score to 68 after Dion Conway was caught by Mohammad Rizwan , Hasan Ali for 35 in 10.5 overs.Later on, skipper Kane Williamson came in to bat and he also formed a partnership with Richan Ravindra and both the batsmen continued to bat with good run rate and took the score to 246 runs in 34 overs.

Meanwhile, Richan Ravindra scored his century while Kane Williamson scored a half-century. New Zealand’s second wicket fell for 248 in 34.2 overs when skipper Kane Williamson scored 95 and was caught out by Fakhar Zaman off Iftikhar Ahmed. In the very next over, New Zealand’s third wicket fell to 261 runs when Richan Ravindra scored 108 runs and was caught out by Saud Shakeel off Mohammad Wasim. New Zealand’s fourth wicket against Pakistan fell for 318 runs in 41.1 overs when Daryl Mitchell was bowled by Haris Rauf for 29 runs. New Zealand’s fifth wicket fell for 345 runs in 44.3 overs, Mohammad Wasim bowled Mark Chapman for 39 runs.New Zealand’s sixth wicket fell for 388 in 48.5 overs, with Mohammad Wasim bowling Glenn Phillips for 41.For New Zealand, Mitchell Santner remained not out for 26 and Tom Latham for 2 runs. 

Shaheen Afridi, Hasan Ali, Muhammad Wasim and Haris Rauf bowled 10 and 10 overs respectively while Iftikhar Ahmed bowled 8 and Agha Salman bowled 2 overs.Shaheen Afridi could not get any wicket by giving 90 runs while Hasan Ali got 1 wicket by giving 82 runs.Iftikhar Ahmed scored 55 runs and Haris Rauf scored 85 runs and took one wicket each.Muhammad Wasim took 3 wickets by giving 60 runs while Agha Salman could not take any wicket.

 Fakhar Zaman was declared the man of the match for playing a victorious innings for Pakistan.
