ISLAMABAD: Pakistan called for the immediate release of all humanitarian workers and activists on the Gaza-bound Global Sumud Flotilla.
The Foreign Office condemned Israel’s interception of the flotilla, which includes over 40 vessels and about 500 activists carrying essential humanitarian aid to Gaza. This unlawful detention represents a blatant violation of international law and endangers innocent lives.
The statement emphasized that this act is part of Israel’s ongoing aggression and illegal blockade of Gaza, causing immense suffering to over two million Palestinians. It highlighted the need for an immediate, unconditional ceasefire, the lifting of the blockade, unrestricted access to humanitarian assistance, and accountability for Israel’s violations.
Pakistan reaffirmed its support for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent State of Palestine based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
