ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Ministry of Information has rejected a New York Times report alleging that Pakistan Air Force aircraft were being used against Yemen’s Houthis, calling the claim “fake and fabricated.”
The ministry’s response followed an October 7 article citing an unnamed source. In a post on X, it urged international media to avoid speculation about Pakistani forces’ role under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, adding that any deployment details would be announced by the relevant authorities.
Earlier this week, the ministry also described as speculative a Reuters report claiming that 30,000 to 40,000 Pakistani troops had been deployed to Saudi Arabia.
