New York: Pakistan has demanded concrete steps to protect humanitarian workers in armed conflicts at the United Nations (UN).
Delivering the national statement at the UN Security Council briefing on the protection of civilians in armed conflicts, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN Asim Iftikhar Ahmad stressed that the international community is failing those who risk their lives to serve others.
Pakistan’s Permanent Representative Asim Iftikhar Ahmad condemned the recent killing of 15 humanitarian workers by Israel, including 8 Palestinian medics, 6 civil defense first responders, and a UN staff member.
Asim Iftikhar Ahmad described it as a wanton and shameless act in southern Gaza that has left the world appalled.
