Pakistan dispatches 105 tons of emergency relief to support earthquake-stricken Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has dispatched 105 tons of relief aid to assist the victims of the recent devastating earthquake in Afghanistan. 

The relief aid dispatch ceremony took place at the NDMA warehouse in Islamabad, with prominent officials including Federal Minister for Sports, along with representatives from the NDMA and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in attendance.

Under the directives of the Prime Minister, the NDMA is delivering essential supplies to Afghanistan to assist those affected by the recent earthquake. The relief package comprises ration bags, tents, blankets, mats, and medicines, which are being transported in five 40-foot container trucks through the Torkham border crossing.

Additionally, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, spoke with Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Muttaqi over the phone, expressing Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Afghan people during this difficult period. 

It’s important to note that the earthquake in Afghanistan has claimed over 1,400 lives and left more than 3,000 people injured as of Sunday night.
